Finn Turns 5!

For Finn's birthday this year he said that he wanted to ride on a train.  So we took him on the tracks to downtown Salt Lake where he got to go to the Disney Store at the mall and pick out a present.  He chose a jet named Bravo from the movie Planes.  Finn LOVES trains and had a great time!

Gwen was worn out after the train ride.

Finn's birthday was on a Monday so we went on the train ride the Saturday before so Levi could come too.  This is the morning of his birthday. Finn picked pancakes and eggs for breakfast.

Look at Lila's big smile!  She was happy to have pancakes and eggs too!

Opening presents

He got a Thomas the Train track set.

Levi usually assembles the toys these kids get but because he was at work I got to do it.  It only took me about 45 minutes.  I was missing Levi by the time I got it together but it was worth it to see Finn having so much fun.

That evening he opened the rest of his presents.

He got a "Where's Waldo" book, a game, and new Thomas movie, and some snacks.

The whole family with party hats on.

The cake

Finn loves to look at books when he goes to sleep and Waldo books are his favorite right now.

This is one of my favorite pictures of him sleeping with books.  Who knew that books make nice covers?

Fun Finn Facts

Favorite Color: Light Blue
Favorite Toys: Trains, Legos, Lego Trains, Batman, Lego Batman and sometimes he builds a Lego Batman Train
Favorite Books: Waldo, I Stink, The "I Am Sam" series (he can read the first 9 books on his own)
Favorite Games: He loves to race, play on his Kurio pad, and play board games as a family (Chutes and Ladders, Uncle Wiggley, Memory and Busy Town)
Favorite Movies: Thomas, Planes and Frozen
Friends: Adam, Caden, Addy, Lila and of course his cousins
Favorite Foods: McDonalds, pizza, rice, pasta
Some funny words and phrases he uses frequently: "Apparently..." "Do you see the problem?" "Do you want to play trains with me, or no?" "We hadn't had ice cream in a while." "Can we have short church?" "That's my favorite thing in the whole world!" "I built this for you!"

Finn is very obedient and compassionate.  I rarely need to remind him about house rules or to be kind to others. He is creative and loves to build with Legos.  He usually builds planes, trains, cars and dogs.  He loves playing with his sisters and says that Lila is his best friend.  He is a big help to me around the house by picking things up, putting his dishes in the sink and putting his clothes in the laundry hamper.  He can get dressed, wash his hands and face, brush his teeth and comb his hair all by himself and he does a great job.  He is a good example to his sisters and we love him very much!  We are thankful every day for this boy in our family!
